Trotton with Chithurst parish council Serving the people of Trotton and Chithurst

Highlight of the year! Bring your family and friends to this really traditional village fete with its special attraction: the duck race along the river Rother (like a bigger version of Pooh sticks, but with prizes).

The 2024 fete will be held in the lovely riverside gardens of Trotton's Old Rectory Place, with the kind permission of the owners, and will include children's games, craft, garden, home produce, bric-a-brac, tombola and other stands, plus a fabulous tea tent with home-made cakes and cream teas.

The Fete opens at 2pm and the prize draws and duck race usually take place around 4:30. Duck tickets will be available at Aylings Garden Centre, Rogate post office & shop and Elsted Inn, or via our volunteers, and on a stand at the fete itself: £5 per duck (or 5 for £20); top prize: £25 plus a bottle of excellent champagne; 2nd & 3rd prizes: bottle of excellent champagne; other prizes announced on the day, PLUS loser's prize: bottle of good Scotch!

We always need volunteers to help before and on the day, plus donations for all the great stands - please email events@trotton.community and let us know if you can help in any way at all.

Sponsor a duck and it will be added to the sack to be tipped into the river Rother. Run along the picturesque riverside to the pedestrian bridge finish line and share the excitement as our catchers see which ducks win the prizes for the first three (and last) places!

One of the favourites: the doughnut tree - all you can eat for free - as long as you don't use your hands or drop one!! This is part of the extensive children's games area set in this beautiful garden.
