Parish action plan approved, team leaders appointed
At its meeting on 10 January, the parish council approved the initial action plan drafted by the priorities task group and based on the residents survey in autumn 2023.
As part of the plan, parish council members agreed to lead one action plan team each and to recruit non-PC members to join their team, in an attempt to broaden the input and resources of the teams.
These teams should now be recruited and meet as soon as possible to agree the priorities to assign to the action points they have taken on, which are:
- local environment (road, path & verge maintenance, commons and open spaces, litter etc)
- facilities & infrastructure (rights of way, public transport , traffic speed & noise, event & recreation facilities, etc)
- community events & activities (First Friday, fete, bonfire, concerts, walks & talks, etc)
- community support (neighbourhood watch, volunteer driver & visit services, etc)
- housing & planning (liaison with START, SDNPA, CDC, Hyde Housing etc to look at housing provision)
- sustainability & biodiversity (liaise with ERA and others to oversee parish sustainability & biodiversity charter, dark skies, waste, water, power etc)
The team leaders will accordingly be contacting some of the people who expressed strong views on their areas in the resident survey, but all other parish residents are welcome to come forward and offer to join one of the teams.
