START community trust up and running

As foreseen in our annual parish report to residents last Spring, Trotton has joined with Rogate and Stedham to form a community land trust - START Community Trust. Our MP Gillian Keegan attended the inaugural meeting this week and learned that START has finally achieved legal registration by the FCA.

START's priority now is to finalise membership, finance and other policies ready for a public launch this summer, when it will aim to sign up every adult resident of all three parishes as voting members! The members will decide the trust's priorities (eg low-cost housing versus community centres, etc) and on who will be allowed to live in / use these community assets.
